A Decent Teaching Aid- but use with caution
IF you love golf gadgets, this is one of the better ones. Still, you can achieve swing speed changes by swinging your own driver FAST every single night. You just need to know how to swing it with your lower body and loose wrists and powerless arms! But if this aid helps you swing every night, then GET it. It can teach you "lag" which is one of the skills all great players use to produce greater club head speed. Lag is a by-product of the lower body working right and you firing your body in the proper sequence. If you HIT with your arms from the top, you will not ever see a draw or feel a well-compressed iron shot or gain a lot of distance. Learn the fundamentals first, then search for golf aids like this one that can reinforce proper technique. If you just whale away with this flex trainer, it will get you nothing! Used properly, it can help you swing in sequence and feel the body doing the work of transporting the club to the ball.

I liked it so much I got a second one for the office.
I was introduced to this by a guy I got paired with at my local course, and his partner had an orange one. While we were waiting to play, they were telling me about them and I swung them both for a few minutes. I could not feel any difference between the two, and I loved the general idea as a warm up, plus a training aid. I got online and this one was less expensive than the orange one so that was a no-brainer.I like it so much I bought a second one that I keep at my office and sometimes I take a break and just go out and swing it. Excellent for swing training, flexibility, and developing tempo.

Very Impressive Product
So let me start by saying I was torn between this product and the Orange Whip. I agonized over which one to go with. (I really didn't want to purchase both of them.) I came away very happy with choosing the SKLZ Trainer.I am a 5 handicap and am writing this review from my perspective.I have previously sampled the Orange Whip in a local golf store. The counterbalance weight at the end of the whip was an interesting feature. After playing around with it I determined it was more of a tempo device then anything else. Sure it will help you somewhat with your swing plane, all of the tempo trainers will.I ordered the 40 inch model with a focus towards tightening up those couple of loose iron shots that occur during my rounds. By holding it out at a slight angle, I can simulate swinging with a longer club or swing it normally for iron shots. The first thing I noticed was the quality of construction. This is a well crafted item that isn't going to just fall apart on you. The ball at the end of the trainer is big enough to not get stuck in your golf bag if you want to take it to the course with you.Swinging this trainer is great for ingraining proper feel of tempo, swing path, and understanding where the clubhead is during the swing. It's also great for working on things like rotating your arms through impact. It's easy to take smooth swings and feel your body react to it. The weight allow for you to naturally progress with your body moving in the correct sequence on the backswing and downswing. After working on sections of my swing, I switched to an iron and tested it out...very satisfying. Using this product daily will help you to groove a swing that is desireable, and more importantly, repeatable. For the price of this product it can't be beat. Take it for what it's worth. For those that have trouble trying to figure out how to use this product, it's very simple...1. Start at your normal address position.2. Waggle the club slightly forward using your hands, arms, and shoulders.3. Move the club into your backswing.4. Slight pause at the top to let the ball fully catch up to you.5. Smoothly swing and feel your weight transfer to your front side as you complete your downswing into a full finish.6. Rinse and repeat.

Does EVERYTHING as advertised
I do have one regret. I bought the 48". I'm 6'0, and this felt too long when it first came. At this length, its only for driver. But the greatest upside to this product to ME and MY body is my forearms and biceps became RIPPED after using this a work-out tool. My forearms just grew new muscles and my arms look awesome! As a beginner, it has really helped me developed in 3 key areas:- Strength (down-swing swing speed mph)- Creating lag- Build/Fortify all muscles, mostly arms and lower back. This will not CURE any of these problems. But it will help. Creating lag on a driver doesn't make sense, so I am tempted to buy the shorter version so I can create lag on my irons, which I struggle with.If nothing else, I would buy this to get massive forearms and biceps. More power = more club head speed = more distance. The one bad thing is I feel like now I HAVE to buy the shorter version to match the swing of my irons, because it is excellent at creating lag. Also helps develop hand muscles as you increase your strength when you use this tool if you're using this to increase your swing speed. Also, great lower back muscle creater.

A Magnificent Device for Timing, Tempo, Warmup
I've played golf for 55 years and carry an eight handicap. Drive about 240-250 yards. I've used dozens of training aids, and this could be the best one ever, well deserving as the #1 selling swing trainer on Amazon. Not complicated - just the swing it back and forth; it's a strength and tempo tool, not for swing mechanics. As a warmup, nothing does the job as fast - maybe about ten swings; and it helps considerably with what's probably the most important move in the golf swing - the transition at the top of the swing. Maybe the key word is "fluidity" best describe its key benefit. Combining fluidity with enhanced swing speed and balance via this device, I'm re-experiencing that wonderful feeling of "flushing" the ball every now and then. I may be a little too nutso about this trainer, but I received the 40" model and have been so impressed that I just ordered the 48" version also. A tip - put it in your bag and take five swings every three or four holes for muscle memory. It's supposed to be bag-legal but I think you need to count it as one of your 14 permitted clubs.

Will be very useful, but watch a lot of YouTube videos to get the best out of this product.
It took me a while to get the hang of this product. Lots of YouTube videos available to explain how to get the best out of this product even if the videos show the orange ball. The yellow ball seems to match all the expectations presented in the orange ball videos. However, there is one quality that does not appear to have been highlighted. As you swing the trainer back and forth concentrate on the blurred yellow image that passes your view of where the ball will be when you use your driver. What happens is that the yellow ball leaves a trace like a line . From this trace you can clearly see the difference between an in to out swing and an out to in swing. Once you "see" this you can match that to the feel of the device as the heavier weight and very flexible shaft seems smooth in the in to out swing line but feels awkward in the out to in line.I know it sounds complicated but, for me, this gives me some hope that I can use the product to genuinely improve my swing.Last point is you should consider wearing gloves on both hands. Maybe it will be leass wearing on my hands when I get the swiong path consistently correct. For now I'm wearing gloves on both hands.

Great for swing tempo and timing
I'm generally a bit sceptical about golf training aids, but I thoroughly recommend the gold flex. This allows you to feel the 'club head' throughout the swing so that you can appreciate the pressure points in the grip. You can also understand the feeling of lag at the transition and learn the movements needed to accelerate the club head through the impact zone. It's also easy to see the yellow ball path to understand whether you are swinging in-to-out, out-to-in or along the target line. All of these essentials are quite difficult to get right with an ordinary club, but easy when swinging the golf flex.

Excellent Training Device.
I've had this Swing Trainer for about 6 weeks now and I can honestly say that it has considerably surpassed my expectations .I have found it to be a really good warm up device prior to teeing off also, it's very good as a stand alone exercise device. But mostly because it has helped me to perfect my swing (and boy did it need some perfecting). My swing has become much more consistent and as result my confidence has improved no end. Def: Highly Recommend .

Swing path
great item to get your path on track, its still a work in progress for me but the videos online help the best as to how to use this correctly. I needed help with path and to start the downswing with the lower part of the body rather than the top. If you swing this using the top half it will whack the floor so you know thats wrong. I keep it in my bag to use before any round. Best training aid I have brought

Great for swing improvement
Bought this in September 2017 but only writing review now because wanted to see results in my game!Recently, I’ve been taking SKLZ flex to driving range and using it before hitting shots. It has helped so much as was only using arms before but it’s helping me turn and have more rhythm in my swing.I’m 35 handicap and have been more consistent and achieving better scores recently.Working for me!The reason for 4 stars is only because it comes with no instructions and I had to look on the internet how to use it.

Good for rhythm and transition
I was struggling with getting through the ball into a good finishishing position. The weighted practice club helps me with this and also helps with rhythm too.

Great warm up tool
Really like the swing trainer. Useful as a warm up tool. Allows you to feel and generate lag in the swing. The delaying effect caused by the weighted head, creates the delay in the downswing to encourage and allowing you to get into optimum position to generate the speed through impact

Best training aid
The best way to summarise how this helps your golf swing is to compare it to playing pool after a game of snooker.

useful tool
Has enabled me to hit the ball more on the up stroke rather than coming steeply over the top, so has given me a more penetrating ball flight. Has also improved lag. As previously stated won't cure slice or hook, but a good training tool.however came in a box big enough for a small flat packed table.
