Much Better the Second Time
My first box of Jazz Selects was poorly cut. All of the reeds were cut off-center and were unplayable, so I gave Rico (D'Addario) two stars for poor quality control. But I have been looking for a reed that plays between a Vandoren V16 and a Java Green, so I cautiously decided to give the Jazz Selects another try.The new box is a set of Number 3 Medium French-filed reeds and I was happy to see that all five reeds were properly cut. So I started playing them. The first reed worked great right out of the box, then I tired another one - same result. I finally tried every reed in the package and out of the five reeds three of them worked great right out of the box. The other two only required a couple of sessions to break in and it looks like I have a box of five reeds that are all good!I don't know how long these will last, but the first impression is wonderful. So based on this second box, I'm willing to adjust my vote upwards. QC issues aside, these reeds play very well.

Super consistent, high quality
I have been getting back into playing saxophone after about a 10 year hiatus. In that time D’Addario acquired Rico reeds, an boy what an improvement its been!Back in the day, only two or three of a box of ten Rico Royals would play well. With the box of Jazz Select I can play comfortably on EVERY reed! The cuts are clean and the tables are flat and the tips do not warp easily. Very pleased with these and I will be buying again when I need to resupply!

Great reed but too expensive
These reeds are great and play well - I can get just as good service from reeds that cost half as much.

Thought Better
Not what I expected, thought the reeds would feel/sound better when playing them.

This brand of reed has the least amount of terrible reeds per box that I've tried in the last 20 years of playing. ..Still too many horrible ones, but this is my brand.

Bad quality.
Current pack of reeds is completely unplayable. Shocked. Maybe they are old. The pack does not even have unique code inside...( Disappointing. I wanted to buy few more boxes and now I do not know where to order them from.

High quality playable reeds
I usually spend time finding a suitable reed out of many that turn up in a box but the majority of reeds in one of these boxes are very playable. a good choice for someone who doesnt want to spend a lot of time finding a good reed!
