Chess Praxis (Chess Classics)

Excellent companion to "My System"
My System and Chess Praxis may be the best chess books published every. Nimzovich's ideas in these two books are all demonstrated with at least two games per idea (usually more). Topics he covers include blockade of double pawns, centralization of forces, and freeing moves. Many of the concepts he teaches, which form the basis of "hyper-modern" chess, make grandmaster games and the moves they make more understandable. If you can completely understand the author's concepts of tactics, you'll obtain a nearly unattackable position and you can start looking for tactical possibilities against your opponent. He may not be the best chess player ever, but his positional play was certainly the most solid. He was excellent at combinations attacking weaknesses in his opponent's position.Regarding the differences between Chess Praxis and My System: People who read Chess Praxis first are usually left in the dust, so personally I recommend reading My System first. On the other hand, Chess Praxis is lighter and easier to absorb. Regardless, this is one beautiful chess classic you can't ignore.

Gotta love your Nimzo
As usual, book arrived sooner than its original ETA. This is a true classic, a paramount addition to any chess shelf. There have been other "21st Century" re-editions of this ultra popular masterwork, but this particular effort seems to retain the characteristic edginess of the original author's biting analytical prose. Nimzowitsch was in constant combat with his opponents, his critics, and his own personal demons. For a fellow who was probably his own worst enemy, Nimzo's books constitute several of the priceless gems in the crown jewels of chess literature. A must for the modern chess shelf. Kudos to Quality Chess UK Limited.

An old book but still relevant.
Shess Praxis was part of a pair of books that are essential reading for the club chess player. Nizovitch was a greaat player and a great thinker. These 21 century edition which contain algebraic notation are exceptional.

Short was right.
I was told that Nigel Short said "I learnt more from this book than any other." After reading or should I say working through two and a bit chapters I know what exactly what he was saying. Chess club members have notice a change for the better in my game. I can also work out a clear strategy from my better understanding of the game position.10/10

HIGHLY RECOMMENED !!!!
This book demonstrates My System in practice with various games played by Nimzowitzch himself using his system. I found it clear and easy to follow and would rate it as one of the best chess books ever.

The quality of the book by "quality chess" is bad. The look and feel is more like of a school textbook. Comparing to the books by "dover chess", this is nothing.
