Noticeably better gasket.
I just replaced a generic gasket with one of these. The generic gasket failed after one season of mowing in the usual place . This new gasket is so obviously better I donβt mind paying twice the price for it over the generic gaskets. Do NOT buy any other head gasket for this application!

OEM Gasket Works Great
Head gasket job was relatively easy. Took me 3.5 hours, but more than an hour of that was getting all the parts completely clean with a little bit of gasoline and a plastic scrubby so that they could be re-assembled. At the end of the job, the tractor started right up and head gasket leak problem was solved. Tractor runs like brand new and no longer burns any oil. Valve cover gasket leaked the first time because I used the wrong valve cover sealant (Permatex form-a-gasket #2 is too soft for this application). One week and one mowing later I spend another 30 minutes replacing the valve cover gasket for the second time and used Permatex grey high torque form-a-gasket. Now its is running and mowing like brand new, not burning any oil, and no oil leaks. Job done! Only special tools needed are a good torque wrench to torque on the head and valve cover, and feeler gauges to set the proper gaps on the valve rockers. All other tools are standard stuff most people have.

Seems to fit my Craftsman T2400 19 hp just fine
I am 80 years old, first time replacing a head gasket. The job seemed text book after watching a couple YouTube videos. I have run the mower for 2+ intense hours now on my hilly 3 acre property. No bellows of smoke coming from the engine. The gasket is working great.

Easy 5
It arrived 3 days earlier than the first day of the arrival window. It had a big "33" on it where the old gasket had "31" but it fit the bolt and pin pattern and was same thickness. Bought a torque wrench, followed the bolting sequences and installed it. After the engine blew out the old oil in the muffler, the mower worked like it did when it was working good. Bought this for about half of what local mow and repair stores quoted for and that includes shipping. What else can I give it but 5 stars. I think I bought it from AS Company. I bought another one of these to repair another B&S engine, same size, same design. The new gasket is actually wider where the old gaskets had a tendency to blow, right between the cylinder and valve galley. I'm thinking this replacement part is better than the original. Both engines are running good, now.

Head On
Gasket is fine and worked as required. Easy to put the gasket on but getting that point means removing, valve cover, valves, exhaust, intake and then cleaning the head.

Right one by part number.
I have a 331877-1371 Briggs motor on my riding mower. It says 21HP on a Craftsman YT3000. I downloaded my motor's parts manual to make sure I got the right gasket. The manual that I downloaded calling for this gasket says 331800 series type 0026 - 4449. So if your first 4 digits are 3318__and the last 4 fall in that line, should fit. The part number called for in the manual was 794114. It was an exact replacement. Some people are saying it doesn't match the picture. I don't know if it does or not. I know it matched the gasket that came off and it was the right part number. By the way, the torque on the bolts is 18 ft. lbs. I'm back in business and it has been running perfect again.

This part was exactly what I needed.
Perfect fit. Too bad Briggs and Stratton cheated on the cylinder housing making the casting too narrow between it and the pushrod cavity. A device is only as strong as its weakest point and the narrow casting ( the weakest point) causes premature head gasket failure on this 21 hp Sears lawn tractor.

OEM head gasket
For DIYers, this is a common issue on the Briggs Stratton single cyl lawn tractor engines. Early signs of HG problems include include short puffs of blue-black smoke on start-up and mower blade engagement (sudden engine loads), as well as bit of smoke in the dipstick tube after running the engine. Also engine starts using some oil and losing power.Fortunately a pretty easy fix if you follow the on-line videos. Took me about 2 hrs and I had never done any serious small engine work before. Just took my time and studied the RepairClinic on-line video.

Already broken before packed
The part was immaculately packed but inside was a gasket who was folded in four places and this being a cylinder head gasket it will blow immediately if fitted. Not worth the postage to send back so it went directly into the wastebin...

Lawnmower Quit Smoking...
Fast shipping, arrived in a few days, before the grass grew long. This gasket is built better that the one that it replaced as it is somewhat thicker from the cylinder wall to the intake chamber. The mower runs like brand new with installed.
