It failed, but keeps it's 5 stars
I purchased this unit 4 months earlier, and in that time the unit performed flawlessly. It was a strong update from my previous desktop of an older 4th generation 4790k. What sold me on this unit was the Oculink Port and the optional DEG1 Docking Station. With this I was able to continue using my NVidia GPU that was only a few years old, albeit at a slightly degraded data throughput due to reduced data lanes Gen4x4. So why keep 5 stars even though the unit failed 4 months later - After purchase support. When I contacted them they gave the basic solves 95% of user caused problems home diagnostics protocols. This was a case of the last 5%. So after a few additional communications with the support individual assigned to my ticket we both were satisfied that something extraordinary happened to the unit. So with zero pushback from Minisforum a replacement unit was approved and sent to me. As a tech professional I know most failures occur in the initial burn in process - but that is not always the case. They accepted the warrantee claim and requested the defective unit to be returned. As stated being a Tech professional, I requested if I could send back a partial unit keeping my hard drive will all the personal information and work files. They instead suggested keeping both the drive and memory sticks to make it cleaner, paperwork wise, to return a bare bodes unit and receive a replacement bare bones unit. I went into this portion of the return process offering to just short ship the drive and pay for the missing drive, but this would have delayed the replacement and their solution was so much more elegant and simple. It is nice when companies allow their staff to propose solutions to aid the customer satisfaction process without costing the firm anything to do. I could have short shipped the drive, caused the RMA process to be delayed while they evaluate what else is missing, then either bill me or delay they replacement. But his simple solution solved all my data security concerns and speed up the RMA process. So in conclusion - The great little unit, fast networking, Oculink port has been extremely useful and the post sale customer service proved to be very good. Equipment breaks but good customer service make you return again even though you had problems with the original equipment. So level1techs recommendation holds up!

I bought 2!
Great little computer I liked it so much. I bought two of them. Is very fast. Easy to upgrade and has very good cooling. It's about the quarter of the size of a PlayStation 5. Very quiet. With ram being so high I think it is well worth the money. Fits on the desk nicely.

Lack of support for iGPU for AI workloads
Very good build quality. Performance is good but lack of support for AI for the iGPU especially with 48GB VRAM really hurts.

A real Super Mini PC
This is a compact high power mini PC. I love the fact that it has 3 m.2 NVMe slots. That means you could put in 3x8TB=24TB of very fast SSD (although they mention that you can have up to 4TB each, but mine works with 8TB), up to 96GB DDR5 run up to 4 monitors at 4K 60Hz ( I run 3) and has some support for 8K as well. Even has a finger print sensor for fast sign-in. They don't mention here but mine came with Win11 Pro installed. The power supply is built in. The cooling is sufficient, mine barely feels warm to the touch. The processor (AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 w/ Radeon 890M graphics) is a new AI based design that has 12 cores and 12 threads and the core speed defaults to 2GHz but can rev up to 5.1GHz when needed. They suipply two 2.5GHz ethernet ports that work as advertized. Also, it is nice to have BT5.4 and low-latency Wifi-7. My only issue was my own fault. I transferred contents from another PC which had Windows 10 and I'm assuming that this process caused a driver issue with the AMD graphics that resulted in a lot of strange glitches and power cycling at night but their team helped me eliminate the issues and now it works great. Ultimately, I had to do a clean uninstall in safe mode and reinstall the same graphics driver set using AMD tools. I am not a gamer but believe this mini would outperform the rest. Also, the machine is very quiet, I cannot hear the fan motor. If you get one of these units, there are 4 corner long screws and a slightly hidden short screw under a rubber stickon and the bottom doesn't come off very easily the first time, use a plastic prying tool and work your way from the back forward. I am happy with this purchase and believe the price to be decent. And, if you don't have a lot of space, you can even mount this on the back of your monitor if it has a vesa mount like most monitors.

Risky
Any of these are a risky choice. Only get it if you have some money to spare. I tried about 4 if these small mini PC. It's a firm no-no for me. There are other options with these similar characteristics that can be more reliable.

Productivity Super Powers
I am impressed with the performance of the machine, and I use it with Windows 11 Pro. It does have Co-Pilot and recall support. I am primarily using it for productivity work, but occasionally do both use Adobe and run AI LLMs locally. I am reviewing adding an eGPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 via the Occulink port. I would suggest that purchasers review the AMD 395+ Series of machines as well.

Upgrade
Love it. AI Space is growing for this and only gets better everyday. Computer has been running real well for the 2 months I have had it. Speed, ease of setup, graphics all very high. I don’t think the SD card port works though.

Whisper-Quiet Powerhouse in a Tiny Package
’ve been really impressed with the MINISFORUM AI X1 Pro-370. The first thing I noticed? It’s super quiet. Even when I’m running a bunch of apps at once, it barely makes a sound. No loud fan noise, no annoying hum, it just quietly does its thing. Another big plus is how cool it runs. I’ve used small PCs before that got pretty warm under use & have had to purchase a separate cooling fan to keep it from getting too hot, but this one stays nice and cool, even after hours of use. That gives me a lot of confidence in using it for longer work sessions. Performance-wise, everything feels fast and smooth. Boot-up is quick, programs open instantly, and multitasking is effortless. Whether I’m working, streaming, browsing with tons of tabs open, or handling heavier tasks, it doesn’t slow down or struggle. I also love how compact it is. It takes up almost no space on my desk, but it definitely doesn’t feel “small” in performance. It’s solid, well-built, and just feels premium overall. If you want a powerful mini PC that stays whisper-quiet and runs cool, this is a fantastic choice. It’s been a great upgrade for me.
