Nice, cost-friendly replacement ice maker (some work may be required, though). Two Thumbs Up!
For the price that this cost it beats the heck out of the OEM version from Kenmore. Some aspects of this ice maker are better and some are worse than the OEM Kenmore/Sears part, so I just want to be clear. First, the actual tray/basin where the ice cubes are made appears to be (keep in mind I reserve the right to change my opinion after a year or two of usage) a better design and uses better material/coating than the Kenmore original part. The original Kenmore ice maker basin material/coating eventually wears, gets water behind it, balloons up and peels causing coating particles to freeze in the ice cubes. Plus leaves a bad taste to the ice cubes. This replacement ice maker (had for a month now) hasn't had a problem and the coating used in its basin seems stronger and the ice cubes dislodge easier - no bad taste or particles. The drawback is that the plastic (white) water funnel part that you see in the photo (where your water hose meets the ice cube maker and the shut-off bar attaches to) was very different than my model. To the extent that I had to disassemble the new replacement ice maker (and the old original one) and attach the original white plastic water funnel to the new replacement ice maker. This meant swapping out the ice cube pusher rod (the one with the fingers) as well so it matched up with the original water funnel piece. Both original pieces do fit on the replacement ice maker and work fine, it just requires some basic mechanical skill to take both the original and replacement ice makers apart and reassemble with the correct working pieces. It took me about 5-10 minutes, but I'm handy, so it may take you slightly longer. Nevertheless, it does work and works, in my opinion, better than the original ice maker. Again, we'll see how long it lasts, but the ice cubes are big, clean and don't have a bad taste or particles in them. That's what you want! Keep in mind, considering this replacement ice maker was about 75% of the cost of the original, buy it, do the work to make the water funnel fit correctly and you'll be very happy like me.

Great Replacement for our JennAir
As advertised. Perfect replacement for JennAir Refrigerator. This unit has the actual "metal" tray. Don't get fooled by those less expensive plastic units.I had to re-use the arm, power cable, and cover, but it went in perfectly.Note: The existing locking tab of the power cable connector needed to be trimmed ever so slighty to lock the cable in place on the new unit.No more leaky tray making a huge ice chunk in the hopper any longer.Easy to put in and a good value for the money...Very happy!!

Good cheap replacement
While this is not as high of a quality as the expensive replacement ice makers, I wasn't expecting it. This is a suitable cheap drop in replacement. It features a plastic coated ice cube tray, tray warming element and a universal fit. You will probably need to do some very minor adjustments to make it fit, but nothing that would take even the most bumbling handyman 2-3 minutes to do. This does come with the third screw bracket, but no wiring harness. Just swap the harness off your old ice maker. If this ice makes lasts a couple of years, it will be a good investment. It has worked flawlessly for several months now.On a side note, if you want to reduce the time the first ice cycle takes, just throw an ice pack on top of the the thing. There is a thermocouple that feeds back the temperature of the ice tray to the controller. If it is not reading below freezing, the controller will just wait. Cooling the whole thing off with ice packs gets the system down to operating temperature within two hours.

Perfect Fit, Works Great!
Jenn Air French door refrigerator. (Made by Whirlpool) Perfect replacement ice maker, just make sure you hold onto your old one! You will need at least three parts off of your old ice maker: on/off bail, motor cover, and wire harness! Additionally, wire clips from your old unit are usable if needed to secure wires to the new one! Simple repair, make sure to UNPLUG YOUR REFRIGERATOR, then remove old unit, transfer parts to and install new unit. Unplugging the fridge during installation will allow the system to reset and the new unit should function properly from the start!

Update on my review
This part is exactly right for my amana double door fridge. The side cover had to be used from my old one due to the design of my fridge but the part is exactly the same and works properly. Took about 30 minutes to install. The price is great as I have seen them in appliance parts online for as much as $100.00. I am very satisified.Update 11/25/2013: Well here it is, 10 months later and my icemaker has quit. The unit fails to supply power to the water valve long enough to fill the tray. Like a fool, I replace the water valve thinking that it was doubtful the icemaker was bad so quickly. (old one lasted 16 years. When that didnt fix it, I used the test procedure outlined in a web page and actually used my voltmeter. It gets line voltage for 1 second. Should be 7 seconds to the water valve. The reason I bought this over the cheaper models is it alleged to be an OEM original equipment mfg. part. That means it was supposed to be Whirlpool made. The ice tray has already started to flake the finish off into the ice. The box it came in and packaging has no markings saying its made by Whirlpool. I really have to question this as a OEM part. At any rate, it fit and worked for 10 months so buyer beware. Even the finish is white and the original was black. I am buying from another supplier claiming to be the OEM.
