Pretty nice chandelier
We ended up with one crystal that did not have a hole drilled through it, but Amazon was quick to correct that (small credit to cover the cost of another crystal). Installation was ok, not incredibly simple, but not terribly difficult either. The crystals are faceted crystals, not smooth round crystals as the picture shows. This was a little disappointing, but not a deal-breaker for us.The finish says "Chrome" which I think refers to the bulb sockets and the shaft they are connected to; those both have a chrome finish. The rest of it has a dark, almost black finish (as pictured). When fully installed, you won't see any of the chrome finish. The only part I don't like is the white opaque disc that mounts to the bottom of the chandelier to diffuse the light. It doesn't fit quite perfectly and detracts a little from the look, although without it the bulbs are staring right at you.

OK chandelier, horrible instructions. I figured it out though.
I just installed 2 of these chandeliers. The instructions are absolutely horrible and the installation is different than any other light fixture I've installed which made installation very confusing. There is a long threaded rod that, in most other cases, will thread up into the metal cross piece on the junction box. This one does not do that, which was the source of my frustration. The long threaded rod is only there to assemble the chandelier and has nothing to do with mounting it to the junction box. The entire chandelier is held in place by the two small bronze nuts that screw onto the 2 screws protruding downwardly from the cross member on the junction box. It's not heavy so it will be just fine. However, my screws were too long and the chandelier is very wobbly/flimsy. I need to cut off the screws to allow it to be mounted flush and secure. The fit and finish is OK, but the instructions are horrible. The secret to installing this is to assemble the entire chandelier first (including the cover plate) and then slide the cover plate over the screws in the cross member and then screw on the 2 bronze nuts.

Instructions are TERRIBLE, but the fixture is on par with any basic light from most stores.
The instructions for this thing were written by the illiterate cousin of the guy who proof reads Chinese restaurant menus. They are terrible. Nothing makes any sense. That said, if you have some practical experience with light fixtures, you'll figure it out. It took me about an hour to get the thing together and I didn't even curse once. Let the pictures be your guide and you're better off - not perfect, but better off.Mine has no drop crystal at the base as in the picture, which suits me just fine. The crystals are not smooth orbs, but are faceted, which will probably be better in catching the light, but I WAS hoping for smooth. If it bothers me enough I'll change them out with some from Lowes or HD.For the price this is a good fixture that is very unique. I haven't found one like it in any of the stores (maybe because of the cruddy directions and inconsistent content.I've got a nine foot ceiling and I wanted something that would supplement can lights but do it in a trendy way. This fit the bill. And it's not like everyone else's fixtures.

Ditto on installation issues but LOVE the fixture!
I bought this before reading the reviews. The price was what I was excited about. While it was in transit, I started sweating after reading the horrid installation stories. I stopped reading when I got to "marriage ending installation process" and schedule to have someone to install for us. Glad I did because he even struggled. I did paint the bronze portion of the fixture a brushed nickel. I'm confused why some parts are silver and other bronze. The overall quality and look of the fixture is 5 star +. I love it in my preteen daughter's room. It's fun, large, unique and the price is great.

I used a hack saw and the soft metal cut easily.
Thank you Ashely for this step!!! My husband and son had a hard time installing and this step from Ashely was helpful. Hopefully you have a SAW!!10) This is where I had to modify my provided set - the threaded shaft wasn't long enough to reach the ceiling mount when you installed the upper bronze shaft cover/spacer. I think their intent was that you'd be able to install a screw under that cover and once you got the thing hung, you could just screw that upward and it would take up any slack so you didn't see the threaded shaft. Anyway - when I put the cover over the shaft and then put the ceiling plate on top of that - the threaded shaft didn't stick out the top - meaning, it wouldn't reach the mounting plate. I solved this by just cutting about 1 or 2 inches off the brass cover/spacer - nobody will see the lower portion of this anyway. I used a hack saw and the soft metal cut easily.

Keep shopping, do not buy.
NO! NO! NO! Do not buy! Do not buy! Do not buy! This is the worst item I have ever bought from Amazon. The directions are not the problem. It is the design of the lamp. It is designed to look good, but not to be installed and operate safely. There are numerous shortfalls in this design and you should not attempt to install unless you are extremely handy and have extra tools & parts to supplement of the excessive shortfalls in this fixtures. In short, this is a defective product and should not be sold by Amazon (or anyone). I have installed many light fixtures over the last 25 years, so I speaking from a lot of experience.
